At the protest the councillors were vague about this - they said that the height of the buildings would not affect the 'vista' - they did not say where this was going to be from i.e. vista from 1st floor and above from the flats on the Esplanade, vista from street level across the road, or vista from the Esplanade balcony next to the development looking across the bay. Dick Gross was pressed on this point but he did not supply a physical height he just kept referring to the 'vista' and saying all height would be behind the Palais and would not cast a shadow on the beach.
