Music, crowds and churro stuffing for St Kilda Festival
THE 2011 World Churro Eating Champion ate 10 churros in two minutes.
The winner, Ruari Currin, is up for the challenge again and will scoff the Spanish donuts at the St Kilda Festival to hold onto his title and win the $1000 prize.
Last year, Currin stunned crowds at Federation Square by finishing 10 churros is two minutes.
Seven courageous contestants will be picked from the audience to challenge him and will tackle a plate full of hot churros, by eating as many as possible in two minutes.
The challenge will take place at 3pm on Sunday, February 12 at the Melbourne Salsa Stage, Latin Quarter as part of St Kilda Festival.

All contestants will receive free Spanish doughnuts hats and T-shirts.
“Everyone at Spanish Doughnuts is anxious to see if Ruari has what it takes to defend his title,” said Michael Aldemir, director of Spanish Doughnuts Australia.
“Ruari blew us all away last year with his amazing skills so we can’t wait to see who challenges him at this year’s St Kilda Festival.
“With huge crowds, we are expecting some fierce competition and a very entertaining battle.”
Iterested participants must be at the Melbourne Salsa stage from 2.30pm on St Kilda Festival Sunday.
